I was 20 years old when I took my first yoga class. It was a hot vinyasa class at my home studio . I was an athlete and dancer for most of my life and at the time was still dancing at Marist (I was a junior in college). When I came home for breaks I always looked on Groupon for new workout deals when I found an intro special at Hot Yoga Carle Place. Thank goodness I did because this practice seriously changed my life forever. I didn’t get into my consistent practice until summer 2017, age 22. It was the summer after my relationship ended, my uncle passed away unexpectedly, and I got fired from my job at Merrill Lynch. Needless to say, these three events were extremely traumatic for me and threw me into a downward spiral mentally. I took my sadness out on my practice. My favorite instructor Natasha always knew what to say and created such a spiritual and grounding practice for me that left me feeling a bit lighter and happier after each and every class. Through her and my practice, I grew hope for a brighter future. This is why I decided to become a teacher myself. To help others discover all the benefits yoga has to offer physically, mentally, and spiritually. My goal is and always will be to guide others so that they feel like the best version of themselves, their true selves.

I know my life would’ve been way different if I had yoga growing up. I know kids would benefit tremendously from this mindful practice that I myself teach asana to my little cousins. Let’s spread the word Yoga.
