Protesters brave cool weather to voice anti war sentiment during demonstration in New York

L.A. residents, particularly those from the Westside and Mid-Market neighborhoods, have been calling for more transparency and a more honest view on the massive protest at the pipeline site, which is being overseen by a permit from the Army Corps of Engineers.

But while organizers say they’re still working on outreach efforts after the protests were shut down, community members are now organizing the largest demonstration ever against the project and its route.

“We wanted to come out today, and this is an opportunity to celebrate what we’re about today. We’re going to make a difference. We’re going to make a statement,” said L.A. resident Yvette. She said that the protest will be peaceful, but will have a “tribal feel” to it.

Rosa Martinez, an organizer with the Asian Pacific American Association of North Central LA who works with the LA chapter of the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (APALDEF), said she believes the pipeline protest will be peaceful and also have a “tribal feel.” APALDEF has been actively involved in support of Native American activists and has also been calling for more understanding and communication on social media.

“It’s going to be a good thing for everybody here, for everyone,” said Martinez. “We need to contin바카라 스토리ue to support a really real grassroots movement for the environment. We need to be aware and respectful and continue to be the voice of the people who are impacted by the Dakota Access Pipeline.”
